The qualification covers the practical skills required to save the life of an infant or child during the event of an emergency. This is suitable for Nannies, Au Pairs, babysitters and parents who mainly need to learn about the practical elements of first aid.
The course follows the syllabus of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the requirements of Ofsted for the Voluntary register.

An emphasis is placed on demonstrating each practical skill and then allowing candidates time to master them.Candidates work in small groups, practising on real life dummies and each other, with the full support from the instructor. There is also a chance to field questions and debate / share experiences amongst each other.
The aim is to allow candidates to leave the course with the confidence to preserve life, prevent a condition from worsening and promote recovery prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
